Automated Category Mapping on KartmaX
Keeping a large catalogue organised shouldn't mean manually mapping products one by one.
As product catalogues grow, Ops teams spend significant time identifying products, checking their attributes, and manually assigning them to the right categories. New products, catalogue updates, and changing category structures make this an ongoing task - and manual mapping can quickly become repetitive and error-prone.
KartmaX now makes this easier with Automated Category Mapping, allowing you to create rules that automatically map products to the right category.
🚀 What's New?
With Automated Category Mapping, you can:
- Create rules to map products to specific categories
- Define conditions based on your product data
- Automatically map matching products to the selected category
- Reduce repetitive manual category mapping
💡 Why it matters?
For Ops teams managing large catalogues, category mapping can become a daily operational task.
Automated Category Mapping helps you:
- Reduce manual effort - Let rules handle repetitive mapping.
- Keep categories organised - Automatically place eligible products into the right categories.
- Speed up catalogue operations - Apply mapping logic to multiple products at once.
- Improve consistency - Use defined rules instead of relying on manual selection.
⚙️ How to use it
- Go to KartmaX admin and select any category
- Click on Edit Rules option
- Create a rule based on the required product condition.
- Save the rule.
Once the rule is created, KartmaX automatically maps eligible products based on the defined conditions.
📦 Only Active & In-Stock Products
Automated Category Mapping considers only products that are:
- Active
- In-stock
⚠️ Important: Existing Mappings Can Be Overridden
Be careful when creating a rule for a category that already contains manually mapped products.
If products are already mapped to a category and you create an automated mapping rule for the same category, the new rule will override the existing mapping.
Before creating a rule, review the category's existing product mappings to avoid unintended changes.
🎯 Built for Everyday Catalogue Operations
Automated Category Mapping takes a repetitive catalogue task and turns it into a rule-driven workflow - helping Ops teams spend less time maintaining categories and more time managing the catalogue.
